My first go at a TTT list was almost a bust, but after searching all of my GoodReads shelves, these are the only 8 books that I have read or what to read with colors in the titles.
- Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon
- I am slightly terrified to read this book because holy moly is it a long one, but I super want to and I am so interested in this story.
- Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare
- Oh look, a book that I am no where near close to reading. I challenged myself to catch up on all of Cassie Clare’s works by the end of 2020 and I don’t see myself finishing this challenge but I’m still up for this one.
- Twice in a Blue Moon – Christina Lauren
- I finished this one in 2020 and enjoyed the first half of the book but the second lacked a whole bunch. The cover is still gorgeous though.
- Dragonfly in Amber – Diana Gabaldon
- I’m considering amber a color because it’s the second thing that comes to mind when I read the word. (The first is the lovely @Amberinoface).
- The Red Badge of Courage – Stephen Crane
- Pretty sure this book was made for this TTT. I finished this book for a class in 2019 and sat through many lectures on color theory for this novel.
- The Masque of the Red Death – Edgar Allen Poe
- Another one made for this time. I absolutely love this story.
- Sisters Red – Jackson Pearce
- Red riding hood retelling? Haven’t read or thought about this one in ages! But I do remember loving the sisterly relationship in this one.

I’ve been thinking about this for a while now and realize that, while I love to read, I have a very hard time reading/tackling/trying new books. When I read, I feel the need (almost OCD) to understand every sentence, analyze every word, process every nuance, and remember everything in chronological order. I suppose having mild brain damage will do that to someone as I’m pretty sure that’s the cause of it. When I was younger, I used to read a lot more and had more diversity in my author pool. Anyhoo, the point here is, how do you do it? Do you remember all the books you’ve read? Most times I just revert back to re-reading the series I already know. Enough years go by that I can revisit them with new excitement and new perspectives, and sometimes I end up picturing them completely differently than the first time. Sometimes I re-read them in a different language as that also brings enough interesting differences (although that can also drive me nuts because I notice that shit and feel compelled to over analyze it 😂.) To continue my point, I admire your ability and zest to tackle new books with such ease 😉 Who knows? I might end up picking up a new series/author on your recommendation… once I’m done with “Midnight Sun”, of course 😍 Hope you have a great day!

I’m not quite sure how certain books and authors seemed to have etched themselves in my mind, but I do use GoodReads and have used it for… a really long time. That helps to keep the novels in line. I am also a quite slow physical reader, and have an easier time remembering details of a physical book than an ebook or audiobook. I have never been able to read a book in a different language and I envy you of that! That is honestly amazing. The closest that I can ever seem to get is an English translation.

I forgot to mention, English is my third language. I’m French by birth, and also lived in Puerto Rico and Mexico quite a few years (so, the Spanish.) Everyone in my family is fully bilingual, if not trilingual. My mother is French but was raised in Venezuela. My father is French as a result of asylum petition but, really, of Czech ancestry. And I was born near Devil’s Island (yes, the French penal colony 😉) I am probably the strangest individual you’ll ever meet 😂
