October 2020 TBR

One of my favorite parts of October is sitting outside with a blanket, a cup of coffee coffee and a good book. This month, I look forward to watching leaves fall and change. I am so ready for cooler months – not cold. Just, cool.

In addition to my Hocus Pocus TBR, I’m going to start this month with something completely out of my wheelhouse. I’ve been reading bits and pieces of Lynsay Sands’ An English Bride in Scotland. I haven’t read much historical fiction and I’ve read much less historical romance. But, I’ve heard good things, so I’m willing to give it a try.

The next book is also super out of my comfort zone… a shifter romance. Talia Hibbert hasn’t steered me wrong yet, so I’m looking forward to seeing what this genre’s about. I also might use Mating the Huntress for my Hocus Pocus TBR because it would fulfill the sisters prompt. I’m not sure if I’m going to be in a graphic novel mood this October or not. Best to play it safe and have a backup plan.

Last month, I semi-buddy-read The Raven Boys with my good friend Andi, (Twitter | BookTube) and this month I would like to continue the series with The Dream Thieves. I love the atmosphere of this series so far, even if some of the concepts in the first book went a teensy bit over my head, I’m hoping that the second book clears up some of that confusion for me. I have a weird history with Maggie Stiefvater, so we’ll see how that goes.

The Talks and Thoughts book club pick for October is The Girl From the Well, which may be way too spooky for my taste but I’ll give it a try… in the daytime. With the lights on, obviously.

And that concludes my October 2020 TBR! I’m hoping to find a few favorites this month. I’m always down for bduddyreads, so if you’re interested in buddy reading any of these, leave me a comment or feel free to DM me on Twitter! Happy October, and happy reading!
