I threw my entire November TBR out the window and read quite a few shorter, fun books this month. My brain needed a break from the constant stress that we all know oh so much about this year. I wanted to escape and read something that would take my mind off of everything and luckily I found some good ones this month. I hope you did as well! This is the first book in the Holiday Hunk series and holy moly I was not prepared for this after watching Hocus Pocus for the millionth time this year. The two main characters names are Zach and Dani and that was a little creepy to get past, especially with part of the tagline being “it’s just a bunch of Hocus Pocus.” But, after pushing past that I thought that this one was a quick, fun read. I finished it in one day, sitting outside with the pup running around in the back yard.
Since starting the Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery series I’ve started down a cozy mystery path and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. This series is so fun and the characters have so much chemistry with each other that I often find myself laughing out loud. This novella is the perfect way to start the series if you haven’t already.
Next up on my list was Roomies by Christina Lauren. A good friend, Andi, gifted this lighthearted stand alone to me and I’ve been waiting for the perfect time to read it. Now was that time – I really needed some marriage of convenience right now.

And then I caught up on the Well Met series by Jen Deluca and absolutely adored the setting and the characters. I’ve never ben to a Renaissance Faire but I’ve heard some great things and these two definitely got me in the mood for some turkey legs.
After that, I was looking for something short fun, so I picked up This Christmas, Holiday Hunk book 2, by Sarah Spade. What started as Hocus Pocus fan fiction continues as Holiday Hocus Pocus fan fiction. And, I’m kind of here for it?
The Tourist Attraction by Sarah morgenthaler gave me some serious wanderlust, and also continued this romancey kick I’ve had this year. I enjoyed most of this one, and will probably continue with the next book in the Moose Springs, Alaska series.
Next, I participated in Tome Topple Round 13 (@Tome_Topple) and I got a decent amount of The Hero of Ages read. It’s been a minute since I’ve read the first two books in the series, but this one is slowly reminding me what happened before – I just think that it’s a tad too slow for me. When I put it down, part of me wants to pick it back up and another part just doesn’t want to read fantasy right now. Maybe I’ll finish in December?
