10 Favorite Reads of 2020

Y’all I am on the verge of reading 100 books in one year for the first time ever. And I am so excited to be on the precipice of that. Honestly, there could be a few more books added to this list because I’ve read more this year than I think I ever have. I’ve also logged more of my reads than I ever have so who really knows tbh. If you’ve read or want to read any of these books, feel free to chat with me about them in the comments! I’d love to know your thoughts.

  1. Evvie Drake Starts Over | Linda Holmes
    • Evvie and Dean moving forward with their lives and also becoming friends honestly warmed my heart in a time that I desperately needed something happy. This book was good, the characters were just the right amount of flawed and the entire thing had me wanting to write again.
  1. The Nightingale | Kristin Hannah
    • This one I shared with my grandmother. I’m sure she’ll like it as much as I did, if not more. This one built slowly and so perfectly.
  1. The Poet X | Elizabeth Acedevo
    • I hadn’t read a book written in verse in a <I> long <\i> time but I was very here for this one. I listened to it on audio and loved the musical aspect.
  1. Crescent City | Sarah J. Maas
    • This one was highly anticipated for me, and after getting through quite the info dump in the beginning I could not put this book down. I can’t wait for the next installment.
  1. Beach Read | Emily Henry
    • I cried.
  1. Home Before Dark | Riley Sager
    • If “Fuck this house!” doesn’t perfectly sum up 2020 for me, I don’t know what else does.
  1. Take a Hint, Dani Brown | Talia Hibbert
    • So cute and so funny, I loved these characters and this story so much.
  1. The Sound of a Wild Snail Eating | Elizabeth Tova Bailey
    • I reread this one quite frequently and honestly more people should pick up this book.
  1. The Story of a New Name | Elena Ferrante
    • Elena Ferrante’s characters have a huge hold on my heart. I enjoyed this one just a smidge less than the first one, but it set up a whole bunch of stuff for the next installment.
  1. Undercover Bromance | Lyssa Kay Adams
    • I cannot recommend this one enough. Honestly, loved it! Laughed so hard it physically hurt.
