My Year in Books | 2020 Bookish Stats

I have always been a stress reader.

By that I mean that whenever life gets a little hard or things get a little scary, I pick up a book. This year was no exception. Here are just a few details from my 2020 Year in Books!

I have read way more books than I have ever logged before on GoodReads. By extension, I have also read almost double my typical page count in one year! I’m quite proud about reading over 100 books this year! It has been a goal of mine since elementary school to read 100 books in one year. (There’s a story in that that I won’t go into on this post, but I digress). Anyway, every year I challenge myself to read 20 books. I met and surpassed my annual goal in April of 2020, which just so happened to be my best reading month of the year. Y’all, I must’ve really been going through it because I read 24 books that month!

My first review of the year was for Voyager by Diana Gabaldon and I think it kind of set the tone for the rest of 2020, if I’m being honest. I was super excited to read more about Jamie and Claire, but their story just wasn’t it for me in this one. I did, however, keep up with the show, and am eagerly anticipating Outlander’s return!
I can’t believe I read a 10 page book this year. But, hey! If GoodReads counts it as a book, who am I to argue?

My average book length this year was about 319 pages, which, I think, is quite a bit shorter than typical for me. It’s still a decent number, and I hope to bump that up just a little bit next year by reading a few anticipated tomes!

These results are not surprising to me at all! The Almost Zero Waste Guide by Melanie Mannarino is set to be released in January, 2021. So, it makes sense that not many people have read this book, therefore, it would be less popular.

My average review for 2020 is a 3.6, which for me is positive! I’m glad that I was able to escape into some really, really good books this year.

This one also doesn’t surprise me! I enjoyed The Nightingale so much that I gifted my copy to my grandmother so that she could enjoy the book as much as I have. And, she did.

Anyway, if you’d like to see a list of all of the books that I’ve read in 2020 or before, check out this link. (To see a previous year click the “previous year” button the top left of the page).

What did you think of my reading stats? See any books you loved? Any that you hated? Any just meh? Let me know what you think! I’d love to see your reading stats, so feel free to link your posts below! ❤️
