January 2021 WTR

New year, new month, new WTR. I’m planning to start January slowly and with intention. I would like to start by finishing the books that I’ve started in December and re-start a few series that I have had open for a while.

If you’d like to follow me on my reading adventures, check be my friend on GoodReads.

The Hero of Ages | Brandon Sanderson

I started this one in November 2020, and holy moly it’s almost been two months. Would really like to finish this one this month so that I can continue with the rest of the Cosmere. I believe I only have about 400 pages left, so this is totally manageable, I think. Hopefully. Fingers crossed.

Empire of Storms | Sarah J. Maas

I FINALLY DID IT! I re-read Queen of Shadows in 2021 and I’m ready to move on with the Throne of Glass series! I’m so frickin excited about getting to this book this month! I had planned to finish a re-read of the first five books and then finish the entire series for the first time ever in 2020, but that really didn’t happen. So I changed my goal. If I could just finish a re-read of the books that I have already read, I would be happy. And, here I am, in January 2021, prepared to start (and finish) Empire of Storms. BOOM!

Sleeping Giants | Sylvain Neuvel

A coworker who I don’t work with anymore recommended this one before it had even been released. I finished the book before he did, and then promptly never touched the rest of the series again – until December. I finished the prequel novella to the Themis Files series in 2020, and I would like to re-read Sleeping Giants and continue on with the rest of this series. I do enjoy this world, and I would love to know what happens next.

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest | Ken Kesey

This one is way out of my comfort zone, but what a better way to start the year off than with something totally new? I know almost nothing about this book, and I think it’s best to keep it that way. I will be buddy reading this one with my good friends Andi and Layali!

I would also like to finally get to one of my most anticipated releases, Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas. And, this one just so happens to be the January pick for the Talk and Thoughts Book Club. I can’t wait!
