5 Series I started in 2020

While I commend myself for catching up and finishing quite a few series in 2020 (post here), I did begin a few as well. Here is a list of books in which I have only read the first one, or first few. I’d love to hear your thoughts on them if you’ve read them (and if you haven’t!). Happy reading, everyone.

Moose Springs, Alaska | Sarah Morganthaler

  1. The Tourist Attraction ★★★★
This one was so good! I enjoyed the characters and the story and most definitely loved the romance. I think that the format in which I read this book (ebook) really threw me off. Lately, I’ve been loving audiobooks, so I may just pick up the rest of this series in that format.

Beechwood Harbor Magic Mystery | Danielle Garrett

.5 A Witch of a Day ★★★
1. Murder’s a Witch ★★★★
2. Twice the Witch ★★★★

I am highly anticipating October 2021 so that I can get into the spooky spirit and finish a few more books in this series. This storyline is so much fun and the cast of characters becomes more and more interesting with each book.

Ice Knights | Avery Flynn

  1. Parental Guidance ★★★
  2. Awk-Weird ★★★

The Bromance Book Club (Lyssa Kay Adams) got me hooked on sports romances. So, I picked up the first two books in the Ice Knights series and wanted just a little bit more from them. I liked the hockey integration, and wished that there were more of that. Overall, an okay read. I might pick up the third book in 2021, but I’m okay with leaving this series as it is.

Red Rising | Pierce Brown

  1. Red Rising ★★★★

A friend of mine has been bugging me for literal years to start this one, and I’m so glad that I did. I enjoyed the premise and even though a little predictable, I’ve heard that this series just keeps getting better and better. I look forward to picking up the next book in this beloved series in the future.

Stillhouse Lake | Rachel Caine

  1. Stillhouse Lake ★★★★

This is the year that I dove into thrillers, and oh boy am I glad that I picked this one up. I missed Rachel Caine’s writing so much, and I look forward to catching up on her backlist and eventually reading all of her works. Her mark on my early reading journey was by no means small, and I will miss her writing very much.
