We have gotten a lot of rain lately. And, on the moments when the sun breaks through the outside looks so green and so inviting. I miss long walks through the woods and carefree exploration days. Many of my days have been filled with work, lately. Long hours and lots of inside time. It’s been quite blissful to watch the outside change a little every day. I am still grateful for the living room re-arrangement and the bay window. The trees have fully come into themselves, and the birds have taken notice.

This past week has been a grounding one. When time has allowed, I have cleaned up my depression room and made a tiny self-care basket.
Inside are some candies, an eye mask, lotions and moisturizers, face and hair masks, and a vanilla scented candle. All of these things have been hiding around my house for a little bit, and putting them all in a basket intended for a bad day seemed like the right thing to do.
I think the next step in my self-care kit is to make a list of music and movies that I can fall back on when I’m in a funk.
Lately, my comfort media cycle has been rewatching a favorite movie (Pride and Prejudice 2005 and The Princess Diaries 1 & 2 sooth the soul), or listening to Taylor Swift’s Folklore.
As someone who has been a casual Taylor Swift listener since her song Tim McGraw was on the radio, picking up one whole album and listening to it on repeat is a monumental feat.
What’s on your self care list? Have you tried any of the products above? (Personally, I haven’t and would be open to some guidance). Hope you have a great day!
