just one day

Every single time I sit and try to write, the words don’t come. The need to write is there. The all consuming feeling that I must write something overrides my ability to do literally anything else without thinking about how I would write that scene. But, the words don’t come.

I want to have a day in which I write and the words come freely and without struggle. I want one day in which I don’t second guess every sentence. One where sitting and writing and feeling is it.

So, I’ve spent my time watching movies. I have read just two books in the last two months. I am glad that I am still reading. Although, slowly. I just wish I could get the feelings out of my brain and onto paper? the screen? literally anywhere.

Yes! I’ve felt the exact same way! I’m not trying to push myself, though. One day it will come back. Just have to be patient with ourselves. We’ve got this!

Hey, if you can’t make yourself write, you should at least read, and good stuff too, not crap. Two books in two months is not enough. Get on Goodreads, set a reading goal. Besides writing, reading is the best training for a writer.

You have to write though. Don’t set out to write a story or a narrative every time, describe an incident or record a conversation, there are so many little parts of a novel or a story and you can practice the little stuff before you get to the big stuff. But writers write, and there is no way around that. It doesn’t have to be good and it may take years before you write anything of worth. But you have to do it.

Writers write. I am chastising myself as well as you.
